My name is Kathy and I am visual artist and photographer from Toronto. Here you will find samples of my ALL of my work both photographs and paintings I have worked on, or exhibited.

8 Random things about me…

1.) My name is Kathy Toth, and many people have these two names together. I’m always asked if I’m related to this ‘Toth’ and that ‘Toth’ which I most likely am not, but I do think I’m related to Christian Toth as we seem to have far too much in common for there not to be a link. Photography, art, graffiti, derivatives and traveling…its far too related to be an accident!

2.) I live downtown and grew up here as well. Its what provides me with my urban sensibilities. At some point I’d like to move to a larger city, preferably some place sunnier.

3.) I’m interested a wide range of seeming unrelated areas of art, photography, creation, continental philosophy, ethics, experimental psychology, branding, aesthetics and industrial ruins as well as bikes to get around.

4.) I have formal training in philosophy and ethics as well as experimental psychology. I guess you could say I’m a self taught photographer, but I attended two special art programs in high school where I got more formal training in visual arts. I never picked up a camera seriously until very late in 2005. This is the reason a dark lab filled with days of data entry and analysis is not the place for me to be.

5.) I like cats and giant large breed dogs. Shame they don’t mix well with downtown living and my schedule.

6.) I love sushi and chicken wings. I like chocolate but I’m not much of a sweet tooth otherwise.

7.) With my art I prefer to use unconventional mediums together, however with my photography I prefer a more traditional aesthetic.

8.) I would love if it was warm and sunny everyday so I could ride my bike to work and ditch the rat race on the roads and the bus.
